Magic Mirror
A futuristic mirror retrofitted into an existing JYSK Pandora vanity. It presents all the information I need to start my day.

Reframed Technology
The mirror uses the MagicMirror2 API, loaded onto a Raspberry Pi. A display torn out of a computer monitor is mounted behind two-way mirrored acrylic.

The Future Looks Bright
A motion sensor detects when the user enters the room and the screen turns on. Philips Hue lights add a satisfying backlit glow.

The Main Screen
The top of the mirror shows the date, time, upcoming calendar events, and weather.

Productivity and Control
The bottom of the main screen displays CBC News headlines, as well as tasks from the user’s Todoist account.
Waving a hand in front of a Grove Gesture Sensor shifts the mirror between screens.

The Commute Screen
Swiping left brings up the Commute screen. The user’s work commute time, as well as the time to get to any calendar events, is listed at the top. A map shows the Google Traffic outlook for Ottawa. If NHL games are scheduled that day, they will be displayed here.

The Hue Screen
Swiping right displays the current status of all Philips Hue lights in the house.

The Event Screen
The user dropping their hand towards the floor displays the Event screen. Upcoming events, movie listings, and drink recipes are shown here.

Google Assistant Integration
A Playstation Eye microphone allows for a Google Assistant, codename Jarvis, to perform searches.

YouTube Searches and Screencasting
"Jarvis" can also search for YouTube videos, or allow for Screenshared videos to be streamed to the screen.
